Sofa, Couch and Upholstery Cleaning

JDee Specialist Cleaning Solutions

What makes us different

Fibre Identification

Before any clean starts we identify the fibres and structure to ensure the correct solutions are used.

Pre-spray and spot treat

We then pre-treat your upholstery and treat and stubborn marks and stains while agitating the fibres.

Treatment time

Depending on the method of cleaning we allow the treatment time to work into the fibres.

Extraction

After allowing treatment time, we now use one of our specialised methods to extract residue solutions.

Excellent service from JDee. Cleaned our tapestry suite and we were amazed how well the sofa and chair looked after John's attention. He made us feel very confident about his approach prior to starting as he explained that he would try with the least aggressive cleaning approach to avoid any chance of the colours running. Would recommend wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a similar service. Brilliant job.

Different types of Upholstery Cleaning

Spray and towel.
Procedure: Dry vacuum the entire piece of furniture to remove all loose dirt and dust, brush heavily soiled areas then re-vacuum any loose particles.
Lightly spray mist a suitable cleaning solution onto the fabric, just enough to dampen the surface of the fabric. Lightly brush the surface of the fabric to work the cleaning solution into the fibres of the fabric.
Allow the cleaning solution to dissolve any soil in the fabric then wipe with a white towel. Repeat the procedure if required and reset the pile by brushing the fabric pile into its natural position.
NOTE: THIS PROCESS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DEEP CLEANING.

Dry cleaning
Procedure: As per spray and towel procedure, prepare the upholstery by vacuuming and brushing. Lightly spray the correct solvent based cleaning solution and agitate the fibres in using a soft brush. Wipe and absorb solvent residue from the fabric using a white cloth. Reset the fabric pile in one direction and allow to dry in a well ventilated room.
NOTE: AS A SOLVENT BASED SOLUTION IS BEING USED, YOUR TECHNICIAN WILL BE WEARING A FACEMASK AND PPE. WE ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT USE THE FURNITURE UNTIL DRY.

Crystallisation/Shampoo Treatment
Vacuum all surfaces of the furniture being cleaned. Brush any hard to clean areas then re-vacuum. Apply a wet foam solution to one area of the fabric at a time. Allow crystallisation by leaving the fabric to dry. You may be advised before the procedure that your technician will come back the next day to complete the clean. Once dry, re-vacuum all surfaces to remove and soil and debris that has been trapped by the crystallisation process.
NOTE: WE MAY ASK TO PLUG IN AN AIR MOVER TO SPEED UP DRYING TIMES TO AVOID A SECOND VISIT.

Soil Extraction.
More commonly known as a wet wash, the start of the procedure is the same. First we vacuum, brush then re-vacuum before applying any cleaning solution.
A suitable cleaning solution maybe brushed or sprayed then brushed, depending of the fabric and condition of your furniture. After allowing curing time, the cleaning solution is extracted using a rinse agent and will remove any ground in soiling. The fabric is then wiped down using a white cloth and allowed to dry.
NOTE: WE MAY INTRODUCE AN AIR MOVER AND OPEN WINDOWS TO SPEED UP DRYING TIMES.

Any salvage work will be discussed with the owner. A survey will identify if it is cost effective and beneficial to carry out the salvage clean. Is the fabric WET CLEANABLE? If not, we may not be able to guarantee the outcome you expect. If the salvage clean is agreed, the system is the same as the corrective care wet clean procedure, but we may add sanitisers to ensure safety
This system can be used for most WET WASHABLE FABRICS which has been damaged by non cleaning, water damage (caused by a water leak or flood) and smoke odour or soot caused by fire.

NOTE: CENTRAL HEATING SHOULD BE LEFT ON TO ASSIST DRYING AND WINDOWS SHOULD BE OPENED FOR AIR CIRCULATION.
